The Ramat Hanegev local council will immediately allocate land for a cemetery for the Black Hebrews of Dimona, following the refusal of the Dimona municipality and the Ministry of Religious Affairs to provide a solution.
Following a report in Ha'aretz revealing that the Black Hebrew community has been burying its dead in the dump in Dimona for the past 20 years, MK Eliezer (Modi) Sandberg (Shinui) said he would raise the issue in the Knesset.
The chair of the Ramat Hanegev local council, Shmuel Rifman, said he was shocked to hear that the Black Hebrews had been forced to use the dump for lack of a cemetery.
