In the Name of Allah, the
All-Merciful, the Compassionate
The conference presenters and
staff would like to thank Minister Louis Farrakhan
for his vision and role in hosting this great
conference during the Savioursí Day
convention. We would like to thank Muammar Gadhafi,
the leader of the Libyan Revolution and chair of
The World Islamic Peoples Leadership.
Whereas Islam is founded upon
the sacred principles contained in the
Qurían and the Sunnah that Allah, the
Glorified, is One and indivisible, Alone and has no
partner; Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, upon
whom be peace, is the last and final prophet to all
humankind; and all Believers constitute a single
community that is indivisible; we resolve at the
Second Islamic International Conference in
Chicago:
To regard, treat and respect
all Muslims as part and parcel of one and the same
Ummah (Community of Muslims).
To affirm that the
Brotherhood and Sisterhood and unity of Islam
transcend all barriers and difference of colors,
languages, place of residence or citizenship, and
schools of law.
To consider the issues,
problems and conflicts of this common Brotherhood
and Sisterhood as concerns of one and the same
Ummah of Islam. Thereby all Muslims are obligated
to respond to these issues in a united, collective,
prompt and effective way in order to achieve a
satisfactory resolution.
To pursue, represent, defend
and promote, with vigor and solidarity, all
legitimate Muslim interests both local and
global.
To come to the aid and
defense of our Brothers and Sisters and the
suffering and oppressed peoples and individuals by
utilizing all Islamic means available at our
disposal for their defense and protection.
Especially opposed is the use of sanctions as
weapons of mass destruction and political
intimidation.
To take the message of Islam
to humanity the world over in ways that are
best.
To conduct ourselves and
behave according to Islamic ideals and moral
standards at all times, in all places and under all
circumstances.
To network closely with all
Muslims on a regular basis in sharing of vision,
information and in pooling our resources - human
and material - for the common good and advancement
of the Ummah and all humankind in all spheres of
human endeavors.
To promote mutual
understanding and peaceful coexistence with other
faith communities through interfaith dialogue and
joint action for the common good of all.
To affirm the centrality of
the Holy City of Jerusalem and its sacred and
historical significance for the entire Muslim
Ummah.
May Allah have mercy upon us
and help us all.
