| Seattle Times Re: Hanukkah Story Resonates Today (November 29) Editor: The article on Hanukkah, which stresses it as an occasion for celebrating Jewish tolerance in the face of tyranny, is a fraudulent retelling of the story of the Maccabee terrorists. The Maccabees did not stand for tolerance: they were a racist terrorist cult that slaughtered both non-Jews and Jews who had been Hellenized (the contemporary equivalent would be Reform and Conservative). The Maccabees are an apt symbol of the modern Zionist movement, which has been nurtured on the mass graves of peoples terrorized by Jews. It is a telling point that it is impossible to tell the truth about Hanukkah because it would, as will the evening news tonight, portray the Jews as killers of children, as terrorists, and as mass murderers. Tonight, as every night, when we watch the evening news we will watch the Jewish haters slaughter the children of Palestine, as the newsreader denounces the victims of the death squads. This is the problem with Jewish history in general, it is a pastiche of lies that stress in every instance the innocence of Jews throughout history, a history for Jewish children being schooled in their peoples' traditional racism. Every presentation of Hanukkah and its symbol of intolerance, the Menorah, is a hate crime. But you already know this, it is simply a hate that you share. Your "news article" on Hanukkah is so twisted by Jewish supremacist fantasies of victimization and triumph, that it is itself a hate crime. Sincerely, James Joseph Sanchez, PhD (Middle East Studies) |
